Optima batteries

Post by Second Chance »

Need to replace the deep cycle batteries for my 24v trolling motor system. Anyone have any experience with these batteries ? Are they worth the extra $ over a conventional deep cycle battery? Their advertisment makes a lot of claims , full recharge in one hour, longer life, etc.

I love mine so far, had it close to a year....Recharge rate depends on what amp you charge at...If I take mine down 20 or 30% it takes a few hours to recharge at 2 amps....If someone stole mine, I'd buy them again

I have a couple blue tops. They're expensive but they work for me.

I think my charger is a POS it takes forever. I will start a thread on it when I get really bothered by that thing.

Just Google Optima Batteries

Blue Top = their marine battery line

Battery Source here in Tallahassee has them. Cheapest I could find. I even used Froogle but when you factored in shipping - payed to buy them local.

I bought one a little over a year ago and kept it stored for 6 months or so. Pulled it out and went to top off the charge and it would not take a charge. Sent it back and got another one. So far so good.

I also purchased two blue tops from Sam's. From my usage, they seem to be doing okay too and they were a little cheaper.
