RH, I have some experience winter fishing Econfina, but not a lot. Right now most of the fish are at the mouth of the river and creeks in the area. They are getting ready to go up when water gets colder. So fish the mouth and area around it now, especially bars that you can see on low tide. Fish the rise and fall around these areas with shallow-running baits or CT rigs with short leaders 2 ft. or less and you might do good. We have been using 3'' gulp shrimp on jigs and CT rigs and doing well.
In winter, the fish can be caught up to the no-wake sign. Use a good trolling motor and be ready to anchor if you find fish in deep holes. And take plenty of jigs because you will lose some on the rocks and oysters, but hey, that's fish'in. Good luck, let us know how ya do.
