Afternoon at Aucilla

Post by rocket »

Rousted TrashFishMasterson from his new Concubine's house around lunch time to chase some reds.
Got to the ramp, and it dawned on me that with the Holiday that everyone was fishing. The parking lot was full.
Dumped FM into the LOW river, and chatted with a fellow who was boatsitting while his buddy went to fetch a new trailer since the ramp had eaten their starboard trailer wheel :o .
Many an angler was present, which was evident when we went to our first spot. Boat traffic was heavy.
FM put on a clinic catching pinfish, ladyfish, aquarium sized trout, and then he produced a keeper trout. I was so thirsty I had to take a GULP of my beverage :-D .
We fished WAY up a creek, and saw some good fish, but to no takers.
Eased back out of the creek, and I recommended we take an alternative creek that feeds back into the bay. Once we got to the mouth it was on.
Caught a pile of reds one after the other. I can honestly say we lost count. Most were all in the 4-5lb range. I threw topwater, and spoons. Can't tell you what my partner threw, but I'm kind of thirsty, and am going to take a GULP of my cold one here.
Ended the afternoon with a nice sunset, and left them biting.

Wish we would have found some bigger fish. Seems like they were all 23-34" and 4-5lbs.
But when your catching them one after the other, it don't matter :-D

That's not a very nice term for my new lady friend. I thought I asked you not to put that picture of my girl on the internet where it is possible that some weirdos might see her. Well, I guess it's to late now. I am just waiting for the modeling agencies to start calling. If you guys want a good deal, I am selling her photos with a genuine paw print on them for 5 bucks each. This price will go up significantly after the first Alpo commercials.
Rocket, email me those pics.

Nice job guys, I can't imagine how someone could tear up a trailer at the Aucilla :-? .

Way to Go Rocket !!

Love the pictures.... It takes a real shallow rider to get in and out of that landing in the fall.. especially on a low tide....
