Motor damage control
Just wondering about the fishing in our rocky waters as to who has ever damaged a foot with a tiller motor?
If you did was it on lockdown unitentionally?
What I am getting at is I am thinking most damage happens to "fixed" motors, ones with T&T, or bigger heavier motors .
Or guys that run WOT....hehehehe....
Most I know that have lost foots have remote steering type.

I have had an Incident with said rocks.
It was in November of 2003 I was running back to the fort from the Gray Mare Rock area. I was offshore from Black Rock when I felt and heard just a "click", No jar or jolt, just "Click". The guy fishing with me that day said, "You want to look at it". I said, No we can look at it back at the ramp, since we were still moving I didn't want to take the chance stopping and in not going back in gear again. Back at the ramp we looked at the damage
. I still had forward but no reverse. Its all just part of playing with those rocks.
To answer your question; 115 Yamaha TT running around 40 MPH at the time.

The only time I run WOT at Aucilla is on a high tide and out past the first pole.
I run a tiller always unlocked. I am looking at various boats, and for fishing these local waters I'm saying a tiller might be the best risk, other than a mudmotor.
