Launched at 1st light and headed east. Didn't find much at plan A spot so retreated back to Stoney Bayou before the tide took all the water. Spent the day in Stoney looking for reds but catching trout. If you're looking to catch a butt load of dink trout Stoneys the place. Lost count of the 15"-17" trout I put in the boat. Caught 'em on spinnerbaits and topwater. Only saw 4-5 pup reds. Finally got out of there around 4:30. The water was slow to come back in today.
As rough as today was..Can't wait til next time.
Mouth of Stoney
Even the mullet boats had it rough today. This fellow grounded himself for about 2 hours trying to get in Stoney.

Thats a jug of Tin Can's stinky stuff I won in the drawing last meeting. I found a good use for it too. Remember how my trolling motor squeaks sometimes when you turn the shaft? Just a squirt or 2 of the stinky stuff keeps it nice and quiet.
The easiest route is west of the Island. You can run to just before the mouth. then idle in. Once you're in Stoney you can run again. There are rocks in the creek. But not as many as in the mouth.
The best way to learn it is to do what I did today. Get in and let the water fall out and expose all the rocks. Then spend some time easing around learning the creek.
