Yeah, the first fish I caught was a big Mullet. I was using a 38MR and it was hooked right in the mouth. I just laughed at the coincidence but 30 minutes later I hooked another, right in the mouth. I've never seen or heard of that before. I tried to get a photo but after leaving the camera in the car over night it wouldn't turn on.
Then there was the trout
I found a bunch & and they were all
very nice fish. I started fishing at 4:45am and it was really freakin cold. Usually catching fish warms me up but that almost didn't work this time.

This could lead to a new study.
Lit, are we being invaded by a new strain of killer mullet?
What was I supposed to do today?

Sure, a Mullet. Two of them.
Weird but true.
One of my "real" jobs actually includes proper identification of saltwater fish.

I got one on a plastic jig last winter. A first for me. Pulled pretty good too. Maybe the detrius runs low in winter or something. Nice job on the trout and toughing out the cold.

Couple of months ago, tossed a gold spoon off patty's island and it must have landed in the mullets mouth, nice fight, just like a bone fish.

RX, thanks, I knew it had to have happened to somebody.
Although I have to say they didn't fight much -I'm guessing they were too cold.
