Fish Pond

Post by Steve Stinson »

I know where you're at, and I've caught a mess of them there myself, but not that big.

I would sure like to know what fly you're using. I've done okay on a green wooly booger, but not great. Also, the trout from that pond have pink meat in them like salmon and don't taste so good. I kept one last year, but won't be taking any more.

ya gotta.........................

ya gotta......................... get down on the bottom. Its 12 feet deep. if you dont let your fly get down on the bottom, the smaller faster trout get it. I actually prefer catching the 3 -5 pounders. They fight harder then the big ones often jumping and running hard. Bigger flies usually catch bigger fish. Good luck!

I'd give about anything to get my fishing kayak in there, to catch some of those big gills.

You dont need a yak

Post by abcarias »

You dont need a yak...you can cast a fly almost all the way across the pond. It's well worth 25 bucks. I caught this one yesterday.

Believe it or not, we try not to catch bream because the rainbows fight much harder.
