Hunted a WMA on Saturday morning. Up at 3AM. 5 of us, with 4 hunting. My 12 year old daughter had to sit and watch as two father/son teams filled our limit with teal. Lots of big birds flying, but so many skybusters kept them looking for the upper stratosphere. Shined our light out over the area we were going to hunt before we launched the boat and man, you've never seen so many gator eyes. However, after we got out there, didn't even see one while wading and shoting. Got out and my kids attacked a Boston Market lunch. Then off to the motel to nap so we could watch Georgia in the Bowl Game Satuday night. Sure glad there were 2 halves to that game.
Rolled out at 4:15 am to meet our guide for day two. Kids really liked the airboat ride last year, so we did it again with Capt Jeff. Not as many birds flying, except black bellies and fruvolous ducks that would swoop just out of range. Finally had 3 fruvolous ducks get close enough and only 1 left. Shot about 6 more teal. My 12 year old got to shot my 28 gauge quail gun for the first time. I got some bismuth shells. She wore out 2 coots and helped her brother with a teal. I think my hunting budget is gonna have to grow next year

Back in Valdosta by 6:15. Staggered around for a while, but could not stay awake to see the ball drop....so HAPPY NEW YEAR
