Hickory Mound 1-6-07

Post by catchin1 »

Me and my wife took the Jon-boat to Hickory Mound . Got to the impoundment around 12:00 so we could fish the incoming tide. Not a lot of water when we get there but enough I can slide the boat off the trailer. Clear and sunny and warm nice day. Fire up the 6 hp and start idling out the creek. Didn’t go but maybe 50 yds and realized I needed to shut off the outboard and put down the trolling motor and fish. We scattered a lot of fish idiling along, some mullet but some reds also. Fished out to the mouth where there was a little water and wasn’t long I had an 18â€

You couldn't see the sun yesterday. Other than that, yup, that's what it looked like.

Is the impoundment back open now? How far down can you go. Last time I was there it was closed.

Tom both roads are open and lots of hunters are in there. You can come in off 98 and drive out on Mossy Hammock to Econfina. Dikes are in good shape. And has been, I know since Oct.
