Post by bman »

Got invited back to the private pond....
After a little rain early it cleared up and we had birds everywhere

Woodies, Ringnecks and a few Mergs...
Did see some teal and one Wigeon- all were out of range.

The season has gone so fast.. only one week left!
Then it is back to the fishes....

I stand corrected-
How do I tell my wife I have another 20 days to hunt?

ME: "Honey, I need to apologies to you"
Her: "What for?"
ME: "You know how busy I've been and I forget to tell you things?"
Her: "Yes" (her brow furrowed)
Me: "Well Duck season actually goes through the 28th this year."
Her: ??????

Do I tell her now or wait till after my "last" two day hunt this weekend?

Another successful outing, well done.

I don't see many mallard featuring in the wildfowl bags, are they a scarce resource there ?

They are our main duck, followed by wigeon and teal.

Mallards are very scarce around here- there are a few places to go....
We are really Diver Duck Country- Bluebills, Cans and most frequently Ring Necks.

Woodies are our most prevalent dabbler.
Teal and Wigeon make it into the bag with some frequency.

Malards are almost all I saw in Arkansas.
