Tripletail

Post by Woodburn »

Has anyone ever caught a tripletail inshore?

Ive never caught one and thought they were predominately caught offshore around grouper/snapper holes - actually around towers.

I suppose juvenile ones are caught inshore during the spawning season (like grouper) but it's more of a freak catch.

Anyone have info?
Thanks

My wife says it was in April of last year. She remembers because I put it in the cooler while she was down the beach and it scared the bajeezes out of her when she reached for a drink later. I know, more information than you planned on. Think it was on a CT with a shrimp. I think it was around 14-16 inches. Fluke

We saw some out of Indian Pass last year. Shrimper loaded up on them, but we didn't get any on hook and line.
