The first FCKA kayak tournament was held on Saturday, Jan 27. I’m honestly not interested in fishing tournaments but given that I really want to support kayak fishing and the FCKA site I planned to fish in this one. In short, the reason I’m not interested in tournaments is because I fish to get away from “theâ€

What kinda reel do you have? I got me a TICR in 7 wt, need a reel now.

That's my TiCr 8 and I'm using a Teton Tioga. I guess it's nice for the money -bout $130-150. I still feel inept at fly fishing so I don't think I'm much qualified for critiquing fly gear. I can cast ok so that must say something good for TFO. The reel is machined aluminum and for the $ that’s a big upgrade/feature. I’d like to get a 6wt to fish for bass & the easy days in saltwater but that may be a ways off.
I do know that the fly rod easily out fished the spin gear on Friday.
And if we needed any more convincing we could look up any of Noleflyfisher’s reports. I’m still looking forward to doing justice to the flies he gave me.

helluva nice flatty. :thumbup: noleflyfisher has probably sold many a fly rod to this crowd with his post.
