We left Tallahassee at 0730 Friday morning and drove to Astor. We were on the water by 1300. It was COLD Friday afternoon, and the wind was out of the north at 15 to 20. My partner and I fished in the river until about 1430. The wind layed enough we could go to Lake George. We went 12 miles into the lake to a spring fed creek and found 69 degree water. It took us most of the rest of the afternoon to pattern the fish. We finally caught 3 Friday afternoon. My partner and I went right back to that spot Saturday morning. It wasn't as cold Saturday as it was Friday, but it was still fairly cold. We had 1 keeper fish in the boat at 1400. Then it turned on. We caught 8 more keepers and were back at the launch at 1600.
Saturday's catch
We went back to the same spot Sunday morning and managed 9 more keepers and were back at the launch by 1300.
This was one of the most successful January out of town trips our club has been on in years. My partner and I gave the rest of the guys directions to where we were Sunday morning. We had a Tallahassee Bass Anglers Flotilla, and a good time wes had by all.

Exactly what we experienced, Wevans. After a few minutes of frustration with top water, we picked up the paddle tails. They weren't very agressive on them. Lots of short strikes. But we finally figured out the presentation that a few of them wanted.
Don, them Groupa was safe from me as soon as I saw them waves was taller than my boat "from a distance"
