you got it Ron. Time for the puppy to see some live birds. He's 4 1/2 months old and 42 lbs. He points the quail wing I have tied to fishing rod pretty well, and he holds ok too. Has been on a couple dove hunts and several fishing trips. He even competed in the first trout tournament of the year with us (didn't get to go on the redfish trip cause he's a little noisy). Now its time to see him in action, and see how Katie does shooting
I haven't decided whether I'll carry a gun or just a camera and a check chord.
I have been granted access to a large tract of land just north of town, but I was asked to wait until deer season ended to begin releasing birds.
Now deer season has ended, and everyone I have contacted for birds previously is sold out for the year.
I would consider pigeons, as I understand they have a high entertainment value of their own, in addition to their training value . However, I only live on about half an acre on the east side of town.
Three dollars/head seems like the going rate, so I think SR is right on.
What's the deal with the birds off Spring Creek JT? Do you know a phone number to get ahold of them?
Thanks for all the help. I knew someone here could point me in the right direction
I'll be sure to post some pics.

Trained with some pen-raised pheasants this weekend. Man, those birds are gamey. Had a couple "slip" out the back door while the dog had it's nose in the brush looking. Watched the bird leg it 50+ yards across the field before I realized that I better intervene and get the dog out of it's perpetual "flailex" in the brush and get it back on the trail. Caught it about 75 yards away. Dogs had a great time.

I don't know around Tally but GON had an article that listed all the people who had them in last month's magazine in Georgia. I'll go in my archives and pull the info but plenty of them were down in the area..
