2/2/03 Lanark

DoubleD and I headed out of Lanark right behind Tom and Sonny this morning. Sonny was nice enough to flag us off before we ran aground. We headed out to 45 feet of water on calm seas. Drifted and worked jigs when we got there. DoubleD caught his first grouper on a jig this morning. He kinda liked catchin those grouper on light tackle. None of what was caught on jigs would keep, but it's fun. We anchored on a ledge for a while when the tide started moving in, and caught a few more shorts. I got bored and rigged a light rod and caught a bunch of grunts for bait. This afternoon we decided to throw a couple of Stretch 30's behind the boat and ride around for a while. It payed off. We finally caught 2 keeper gags. That was the first grouper DoubleD had ever caught trolling. I suspect he'll be back out there dragging them 30's again. We got back to the marina and Yours Truly had to end the day right. As I attempted to step from the boat to the dock my foot slipped, and I showed everyone at the marina how to fall into the water. I caught myself on the dock on the way down and didn't get wet much past my waist. But I'm sure all that observed had a good laugh. It was a beautiful day with good company, and we put a couple of fish in the box.

I'm satisfied now that I know I'm not the only one that happens to. Glad you had a good day on the water. Hope the only thing aching is your pride.

TF, I'm fine, and my pride isn't hurt either. Stuff happens.
