Mixed Bag At Keaton & Spring Warrior Thursday 3/29

Post by What a mess »

My old fishing buddy Josh drove over from Savannah Ga. to fish with his old mentor. We drove down to Keaton and suffered from "docking disaster syndrome." Got the trailer stuck on the ramp. :smt013

Finally got out and got the Pins in the livewell. Found the man in the brown suit for him and my buddies first ever Cobia came in and was thirty one inches and then he lost a good one.

After a while we decided to see what some water with a little color would do. Off we go to my play pen up north, real pretty on they way the boat ran great 37 + mph on the gps water over 70 degrees pretty smooth. We got on down past the Warrior plus about an extra mile or two. Trout here Flounder there a Sheepshead and some kitty kats. Not great not bad my buddy was great on the net but slack on the keepers. On the way back I see the Mullets going crazy. Left turn Clyde here goes the Redfish clinic 1 @24" 1@17" and he finally puts a fish in the box a 19" red.

I don't know what to do in order to redeem myself. I told him what to throw and took him where to throw it.

Gulp Nuclear Chicken no ct dropped and hopped some short strikes and some short fish and a few keepers. Reds on the Spinner-bait.

For the frying pan.

4 Trout to 20"
2 Flounder
Two Reds to 24"

Released 1 Sheepshead 1 Cobia lots of short Trout and of course the kitty kats.
Yesterday it was taboo today it is normal what the heck will they be doing tomorrow?

I'd say that's a pretty good trip. Hate to hear about the trailer, though.
