New Member; Shell Pt. report

Post by Jody Campbell is my hero »

Hello everyone, new member here. Live in Tallahassee and attend Florida St., but fish out of Shell Point. I'm visit fishing reports quite frequently and figured I'd join and learn some things. Went out of Shell pt. Saturday in the nasty weather, fished morning and afternoon, didn't catch but about 30 fish, but all but about 5 would've been keepers had we decided to do so. 2 fish over 20, but nothing spectacular. Love the site, keep up the good work!

haha, we have a beach house 3 houses down from him there at Shell Pt., he is an amazingly nice guy and knows more about fishing than I could hope to learn in three lifetimes.

Well, Sir Reel, most of the fish were about 16 inches or so. Still plenty of growing left to do. It was a good day don't get me wrong. And if anyone was wondering, caught most of the fish on popping corks w/ DOA shrimp.

I may have miss spoke... what I mean to imply was that your "nothing spectacular" would be in fact quite spectacular for most of us. Good job.

I would not look for a ramp anytime soon. Go to Spring Creek or Panacea.

Yea, the new ramp still looks a long way from being done. There is a ramp that not many people know about in Oyster Bay though. If anyone would like the location just let me know, it's off the road that enters into Shell Pt.

Only problem with that one is parking.

Yea on busy weekends it can be a pain, not if you're out early though. And for those who fish weekdays there is never anyone there.
