Minnkota riptide w/3x steering and bow guard?

Post by Redbelly »

Does anyone have this model? Is it worth the extra for the features over the standard bow mount riptide?

It sounds like they are hard to learn to steer. Heard any comments on the bowguard system?

Wevans are you talking about the remote-pilot?

We heard the same thing about the 3x but dad had deal fall in his lap on an 80lb 24v 3x with bow guard ($400). I have a bow mount RT on my boat and learning to drive his RT was no problem you just have to relize that a little turn will do ya. It actually turned the boat into a totally diffrent boat. I think that if min RT goes out any time soon then I will go back with a 3x. As far as the bow guard I hate to say that I know about that one too . At the NFGFC tourny at Keaton I wasn't paying attention to the rocks and i put it into one and it flexed BIG TIME!! :o then it flopped back (I thought that I just bought my dad a new trolling motor) and the Prop was broke. I got him another one and its back in business . I too was a skeptic when it came to the 3x but now I like em. My .02

Oh yeah dad has it on a CS 19.

I've got one. My problem is not with the 3x. I don't like the handle on mine. It's about a foot and half long. Too much and in the way. I like the handle on their pro styles.
