Skeeter Lagoon...I'm ruined. LOTS O' PICS

Post by Eerman »

I would try to type up a real report but I couldn't do it justice. I'm going to try to let the pictures do most of the talking. My wife chartered me a redfish trip with Capt Nate Lemmon. The guide was amazing. I think he was as excited as we were, and that's saying something. My brother-in-law is the other guy in the pictures. Forgive me if I get some of the numbers mismatched with the pictures. Also forgive some rudimentary airbrushing. I didn't want to give any spots away.

Number 1 in the boat. Went about 35" and 15lbs.
Image

The first double hook up...yeah I said the FIRST. Another about 35" and 15lbs, the other one is about 33" and 12lbs.
Image

Number 4 went about 32" and 12lbs. He was FAT.
Image

Double hook up number 2. They were "little" guys. One is 29" and about 10 lbs, the other 32" and 12lbs.
Image

The last two fish of the day...Double hook up number THREE. Mine is another 35" and another 15lbs. The BIL was the winner for the day...almost 38" and 20lbs on the nose.
Image

If you do the math, that's 111lbs of redfish in about 6 hours. Ya'll probably think I'm full of it; but, these were the smaller fish. We saw several fish that would have broke the 40lb mark. I can't say enough about the guide. He was poling nonstop in a 20MPH wind all day and never lost the fish. His last remark of the day was "I hope you guys realize that this doesn't happen everyday." :-D :-D
"Why does Sea World have a seafood restaurant?? I'm halfway through my fish burger and I realize, Oh man....I could be eating a slow learner."

Alright, the initial shock of this trip report has worn off, and I've regained my composure enough to ask two follow on questions.

1. Any trout addressed, or accidentally caught during this trip?

2. Did you catch any keepers? :o
