Lighthouse 5-3

Post by Derfish »

I put in around 9:30 and headed to Stoney. It was near glassy conditions. I fished near the entrance of Stoney using live shrimp under a CT and Gulps. The specs kept me quite busy for an hour and a half or so, I even had a double at one point. But alas, two dolphin moved in and the bite was over. Moved out to the East flats near the sandbar and set a drift, the action was not as hot there (the tide had peaked) but enough to keep me busy. Headed back in around 3:30 with the wind picking up a bit. Overall a great day on the water.

As I was trailering, I saw two guys next to me that had caught a nice Cobia (looked to be 40lbs or so) and a mess of trout. The Cobia (they said) was caught on a live pin in the channel.

Tally at Stoney:
15 Specs - 3@ 15in, 4 @ 16in
6-8 Ladyfish

On the Flats:
10 Specs - 2 @ 15in, 1 @ 16in
More ladyfish :smt013
2 short blues
1hardhead
1 small shark
Multiple cutoffs
