2 1/2 men go to Keaton 5/6/07

Post by Hit-n-Miss »

:-D Bob the builder, his boy, and I got on the water around 8:00 and it was slick calm. I started with topwater and had several hits but no hookups. Btb had 2 trout in the box on gulps in 5 min. I was hard headed and kept with the topwater. By 9:30 Btb had 4 trout in the box. It was time for me to make a comeback. He never put annother keeper in the box while I caught up and got my limit including the 22" I caught while bottom bumping. We did good with gulps at first but later on swa's curly tails. The water was crystal clear and 80-81.9 degrees all day. Btb's boy dove in to get a starfish. The final tally for the day. was 11 keepers 15, 15, 15.5, 15.75, 16, 15.25, 15.25, 18, 15, 20, and 22" trout. As well as 20 or so shorts. And 1 24" spanish. Best day I've had in over a year. :-D  :-D

Hey Hit,

While you were around Keaton did you see any early signs of any scallops? I was down at Steinhatchee May 2-5th where we killed the trout with limits all three days. Looked for scallop signs and saw none.
