Mothers day Reds!

Post by Reel Slow »

Naw I ain't that good, but I did slip out yesterday morning around Panacea to check on my new spot and try to find a few others. One of the nicest mornings in a while weather wise. Smoke cleared early

Slid up to my new ninny and saw some backs out of the water, a tip of a tail, and finger mullet jumping...Second cast landed a just under 27"...after a good fight, two more....so then I left...Found reds at 5 locations...just seemed like one of them days....had to leave early but ended up spooning up 11 reds to 27, 4 were pups....I need to start looking for trout, but dang it is hard to leave them poor reds alone... help JT!

Can't wait till next time.

RS,you just have to concentrate harder. It is much more difficult to catch 4 trout from 19-20" and 1 at 28, than it is to catch a few measly redfish and only keep one.
Get serious about your trout fishing. Reds are where the big trout are. They will be a bonus catch.
THINK TROUT.
