Four question
Where would the experienced fisherman fish for reds at Aucilla this week and what bait would you use?
Where can you find this weekends tidal chart from this forum for the Aucilla river?
Specifically, what is the best time to fish for both reds and specks at the Aucilla river?
What are the top (2) baits for specks?

1. A. Look in the deep holes in the river up
near the ramp. Fish slow on the
bottom with live or fresh dead shrimp.
B. Any of the creeks on a high falling
tide. Use a jig or doa shrimp

2. St. Marks tides are the same as Aucilla. Look here for the tides http://www.bigbendfishing.net/quickviewtides.htm

3. For reds I like a high falling tide. For specks, we have done best on the end of the low as it turns around. But this also needs to coincide with early moning hours.

4. (1) Live Shrimp
(2a) Doa Shrimp or Chartruese Jig
(2b) Mirrolures in the Firetiger or
anything with Chartruese and Orange

Just a couple more questions Tom.
What is a Doa Shrimp?
Where can I find the Chartuese Jig?
What test line and hook size do you use?
Which area is producing more fish, Aucilla, Ecofina or St. Marks. Thanks for your help

1. Answered in your other post.

2. The jig I use are the 1/8th ounce pink Sureketch Jig heads with any chrt. twin tail bodies. Both of these can be found at most bait and tackle stores or Wal-Mart.

3. I use 10 pound Stren Magnathin with a 20 pound flourocarbon leader connected with an allbright knot for all my fishing. When using live shrimp I use a 2/0 Eagle claw Khale style hook, a 1/32 oz splitshot and a peggable cigar cork. Hook the shrimp under the horn and they will stay alive and natural looking.

4. Aucilla and Econfina seem to be producing more keeper fish. Since they are smaller than the St. Marks, there is less fishable water. I am sort of partial to the Aucilla just because I've been fishing it so long. All 3 rivers have their pluses and minuses.

Hope this helps.
