Two fishers, my Dad and myself, launched at the fort around 1030. Wind was brisk as we headed downriver. We started fishing west of the channel and the trout bite was on immediately. My first cast with my new okuma alumina (with gulp nuc chick) landed a keeper (thanks Cairo Trout for my 20% discount) . We stayed west all day and cought fish the whole time. Pop landed a nice spanish, blue, and a couple of sharks along with his many trout. Other than trout, I only cought pinfish, but I was cut off once. The winds became south and calmed around 2. The fish were biting in 6-8 ft of water which varied from 76-79 degrees F. We fished a variety of gulps and all were gulped. We finished the day with 10 specs, 1 sand trout and 1 spanish. It started raining as we headed in and the ride thru Tally was wet. As of 10 PM, Havana is still dry.
