gulps!

Post by birdman »

Man I bought 4 or 5 bags of gulps from one of our local stores and they were extremely soft and tore really easily! Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a bad batch or has Berkley modified their formula to get us idiots to buy more of them now that they have us hooked?

Nope- and I used a few yesterday that I got on Friday.

I do think the curly tail and the jerk shad get ripped up to easily.
I like the shrimp its the most durable- 2nd best is the pogy...

I think heat and sun make them limp. I try to keep 'em in the shade.

IF you think they were bad send them to Berkley. They will send you more. They are a soft bait though.

The glow seems tougher than the other colors. The curly tails don't last cause the fish bite the tails off.
The pogy is ok but they bite the tails off it too, but it's a litlle tougher.

I only buy the shrimp.

I bought two bags of new penny shrimp about a month ago. Fished one bag then and the second on Friday. The first bag lasted me all day. The second bag lasted two hours. The pin fish action was about the same. The difference was the temp outside. No wind and hot on Friday. Maybe we should keep them in the cooler.

I had the same problem last week. I bought 2 packs of 3" New Penny and 1 pack of 3" Pearl. Both were shrimp. The New Penny were VERY soft compared to normal and the Pearl were fine. The New Penny would literally sling off of the jig head. I kept the packaging and contacted Berkley. They said they would replace them. I was told to write a brief description of the problem and send them to the following:

Rapala of all makes will solve the problem also. My favorite is the x-rap caught reds, trout, spanish, flounder, ladys, sharks. Just change the way u retrieve for different fish.
