After fishing hard yesterday...If anyone else had asked me to go fishing I would of said no way. But Lil Chalk told me he wanted to go get after them today, so we did :-D

We slide the Ghostrider into the gulf and headed to a place I found while fishing with Ron Wilson. We fished it hard, saw a few swirls, plenty of bait but no fish.

Moved on to spot number two...we moved into a small pond and ran a redfish out of the pond...fished on down the bank and hooked up on the first red of the day...Me and lil Chalk both fought it and landed it together.

We fish on down the bank, taking in the scenery....I had been telling lil Chalk that he was going to have to fight the next fish all on his on...It didn't take long for me to feel the tap..tap and I set the hook...got lil Chalk in position and let him have rod...there was some touchy moments, especially when the bumble bee came buzzing around his head  ...I netted the fish and it measured 26" and Lil Chalk was smiling from ear to ear.

We fished for a good while longer, at one I time I asked Lil Chalk, "do you want to go home and cool off?" He said, "Nah let's catch another redfish." :-D

We only saw another red and caught a small trout, then we heard two rumbles of thunder and I didn't want to get caught out there with him in a storm, so we headed to the hill.

All in all an awesome day with my son, can't wait til next time

Hey get that boy started on the fly rod. Give him a couple of weeks with it and maybe he can show you what you're doing wrong. They learn quick!

Sounds like a very nice day

I'll be over that way for the last week in July. Plan to spend a good bit of time exploring St. Andrews Bay.
