Jumptrout and I met up at 5 this morning at Jerry's, got registered for the Team Seatrout tournament, and headed out.
I can't tell ya'll where we were, but I can tell you we were on fish. We had a limit by 7:05 this morning. The bite was steady until close to noon.
JT showed me a couple of interesting things today. He showed me that $40 worth of Gulp will catch a bunch of ladyfish. He also showed me half of what would have been our biggest fish of the day. A shark took the back half about 15 feet from the boat.
We weighed 2 in the 23" to 24" range, and had 3 more over 18" to go with them. That was enough to weigh us in at 11 lb. 2 oz., and secure 3rd place in the tournament.
Good deal! I had a shark do that twice last week. Both times were on little dink trout but still bad. I wonder what you can do to keep this from happening? I had a red about three weeks ago that a shark bit in two foot of water, also. Only scalloped his tail, but still sucked!
