After attending early church service and seeing my wife and son off on a camping trip I figured I had accumulated enough good karma to catch a few trout in some blistering hot August weather. So I twisted a few arms (Peng, RJ, and my personal PinFish Master Calvin), loaded up the boat and hit the road. To fully test it out we didn't hit the water until 2 pm. Started out scalloping since it was low tide and everybody and their cousin has reported easy pickens. We found a good load and quickly picked up as many as I thought we could handle cleaning - how do you guys stand cleaning 10 gallons???

When the tide began to move we moved out a bit and proceeded to fish. Considering the heat, the fishing was good. We didn't have too many slow periods, fishing mostly from 7 to 4', with a good west wind keeping it tolerable and us moving. Wound up with @ 4 at the 20" range and enough for a few extra meals on top of that. Surprisingly, the sharks and other 'non-targe' species pretty much left us alone. Fished til 7:30, with Peng picking up a fish on his 'one more cast'. Water clarity was stained, considerably more stained than my last trip many moons ago, and temps were around 84.

A hot long day, but well worth the effort.

Sorry, no-pics left the camera home.
