How often do you change the lubricant in the lower unti. Of course this is assuming you haven't noticed it leaking

If you haven't changed it in a year.... it's time
"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".

That's a lot. My boat is 2.5 years old and has 250 hours on it. Does that mean I can wait another 8515 hours to change the lower unit grease?

Thanks for the responses. Eerman....so how often do you change your lower unit
? I've got to go up to Lake Martin in Alabama this weekend but when I get back I think I'll change the lubricant. I went out and bought a kit for it and it looks pretty simple to do. Next on the list will be a new prop. I only have the one on the motor now and I'm planning on keeping the old one on the boat 'just in case'. My boat is slow coming up on plane so I'm thinking about getting a 4 blade prop for my Evinrude 112 SPL. After looking on the forums for a while I think I've heard enough about the 4 blade prop to give it a try.

gwheeler,
I don't tear up lower units. I prefer to destroy as much of the motor as possible and buy a whole new one. My wife loves me.
