Been thinking of getting one and the dark green would work great for Duck Season.....
Pros / cons.... better option for $450

A Pelican is less expensive because of the way it is produced. The plastic is less expensive and thinner than a rotomolded boat like a Wilderness Systems Tarpon or Perception Search. There is always a good better and best. Pelicans would be considered to be good. If your not going to use it a lot like I do mine, then it would be a fine way to get on the water. Its kind of like buying a cordless drill. If your doing a few home repairs then a 9.6 volt Black and Decker would be great and if your working construction then an 18 volt Dewalt would be best. Depends on how much you plan on using it. If I had your money I would buy the Tarpon 120 if your set on that size. They are less than $800 new.
