:-D Loan Shark and I were ideling out the canal at 7:00 Sunday. It was slick calm and we could run flat out. Started with topwater and never got off of it. The water temp was 81 and the bite was on fire. The catch was 24", 18", 18", 18.5", 19", 18", 18", 16", and a 15.25". Also caught a short mango snapper and some short trout. The bite stopped by 9:30. Awesome day on the water. Monday however was a totally different story. We (BTB) and I could not keep from catching 14" trout. :smt013 I got my only keeper at 12:00 And BTB's keeper got eaten by a swarm of blues. I even netted a 14" blue with the 16" now 10" trout. :o I did catch a 10" gag grouper on a grub. :-D

Sounds like a good day. If you care to share I'd be interested in a bit more info. North, South, of Keaton?? Depth?? Thanks. Your reading on the Water temp is VERY interesting. Anybody else seen a drop?? I was seeing 87-88 readings 2-3 weeks ago out of Econfina.
"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".

:-D It had flooded down there the night before. It may have dropped the temp. We went south and fished 4-6' of water. :-D We only made 2 drifts. The water got up to 83 on monday.

I was scalloping on Sunday by Dekab beach and noticed there were pockets of colder water.

We started fishing on Sunday until 8.30 am and had good top water action for a good an hour and a half.

:-D How many times did you have to duck when your topwater lure came sailing by you? :-D Got to love that topwater action.
