Peacock Bass

Post by Flint River Pirate »

How far up have Peacock Bass moved in Florida? I have heard they are in Lake O but that is as far as I have heard. Has anyone heard of them being closer? I would love to catch one.

Would they live in North Florida/South Georgia? I didn't know if they could survive the winter.

My understanding is that it gets a little to cold in the winter.

Not suggesting anything here but I have always wondered if freshwater trout would live in the Wakulla or St. Marks Rivers
they like 60 -70degree water
the springs discharge between 60 - 70 degrees.....

Can you see fly fishing for rainbows or browns at Newport?

I don't think so. When the government stocked them in Dade and Broward the word was that they would not go any further than N Broward or S Palm Beach County.
