Went solo to Icky today and boy was it a perfect day to be fishing.High tide was at 11:30 and there was a steady breeze and just a slight chop which called for a heavy dose of top water action.First off i went in close and quickly found the reds.
To me there is no greater thrill than having your plug exploded on by a big ole red.Ater catching several more reds i moved out to find some trout.Found them in 3 to 5 ft. of water catching several shorts and a couple of 17 inchers.Decided to move in closer and picked up a couple more on the spook.
While throwing top water i put out a gulp using a equailizer and caught several trout ,but once i heard it rattle and turned to see a 4 ft shark pounce on my cork and break my line but it was worth it. Fish look small in pics but red is 20 inches. My dad and i went back saturday and i just never could put us on the fish but we did manage this big ole 24 incher.
