Wow! What a weekend.

Launched at Timber Island Thursday morning at 0730. When I got to the mouth of the river I was greeted by a gentle 20+ mph east wind. :smt013 Fished until 4:30, and managed to catch 9 trout. I might have had 5 keepers. However, one of them was 25".

Went to the house and met up with Birddog and Chalk. I told them what a wonderful day I had, and they were so excited they couldn't sleep Thursday night.

Friday morning Chalk and I slid the boat in at daylight, headed to , for us, uncharted waters. Just like Thursday, we had a gentle 15 to 20 mph wind from the east. :-? We started fishing on the west side of the St. George bridge, and let the gentle breeze ease us to the west the rest of the day. By 4:00 we had drifted to somewhere near Pensacola Bay. Chalk said he thought we were in Alabama. We did manage to establish a pattern on the
trout. It was actually very easy to figure out. Drift for an hour......catch a fish. We MAY have been able to put a limit of keepers together on Friday.

There was a bright spot during the day. We did manage to find several of these.

For about 45 minutes it was fast and furious.

Now it's tournament day. We slid the boat in the water and headed to an area a little bird told me was covered up with trout. We fished this area for about an hour, and managed 1 trout. We both agreed that the 1 fish we caught was lost, and it could take several days to figure this area out. So we headed to what was the most promising area he had found Friday. Soon after we got to this spot the bite was on. We caught A trout. That's 2 fish in the boat. After at least 4 passes through this area we had 4 fish in the boat. Then the bite slowed. I was getting a little nervous. I told Chalk if he would catch that 5th fish, I would get my arse off of my shoulders, and probably would be a little more pleasant to be around. It was quite a while before the 5th fish was boated. We did manage 2 more keepers before the end of the day, but neither helped our total weight.

At the end of the day Chalk said "I don't think I have ever fished that hard to catch seven trout"

The fishing was tough this weekend. Thanks to all 16 teams that participated in the tournament. All 16 teams stuck it out the entire day. No one left early.

Partner, thanks for putting up with me........again. Can't wait till next time.
What was I supposed to do today?

A good win for you guys. Way to go stalking the fish like you did.
Butch and I fished from Turkey Point to almost St George bridge Thurs/Fri/Sat. We had 6 keeper trout for 3 days on the water hitting almost all our trout spots.
The redemption was we caught numerous redfish and flounder.
WHOSE FISH IS IT?
