Good weekend 9-16-2007

Post by jsuber »

Fished Wakulla Beach Saturday and caught 5 Reds to 26.5" and 3 Trout to 18". Steve just joined our club and I loaned him a skitterwalk and watched him catch his first Redfish. What a thrill to catch your first one on topwater.

Sunday, I fished with some guys from Jacksonville in Steinhatchee and I caught 8 Trout to 21" and one Rat Red all on Topwater and even one Pinfish on a skitterwalk. They caught some nice trout and one 24.5 Redfish. All on topwater. I think the Trout are starting to move to the shallow water. Lets hope so.

Looks like an excellent weekend. You'll be happy to know I got multiple trout this weekend in 2-3 feet of water. All early morning but they're definitely getting into kayak range!

Dang JS. You've been putting it to the reds lately. Nice work.

Congrats, JS! Reds weren't there at Wakulla Beach on Sunday 8 am to 1 pm on a strong falling tide. Fished hard from all the way up inside west of the ramp to the outside with shrimp, Gulps, gold spoons, spinnerbaits, and nada to show for it but a puppy and a couple of ladyfish. Oh well, at least we got to walk the canoe through the mud for a half mile or so on the way back!
