Cooler lid hinges
Ever had a cooler lid hinge come unscrewed?
I tried bigger screws and epoxy to no avail.
I went to pop rivets I think this will be the way to getter done.

Here's a good trick I learned from JT51's brother Butch. Take all the plastic hinges off your coolers chunk em away. take a old boat strap cut it peices bout 4 or 5 inches long take oversized screws and fender washers go through the strap back into the exsisting holes, Butch fixed 2 of my coolers a couple years ago, still going strong. I tell ya that Butch is full of Ideas.

I just had a lid come off this last weekend....Two broken hinges.
I'm going to try the strap idea.

After seeing a friend do this, I replaced the hinges on two coolers with the thick clear plastic hose you can buy by the foot at Lowes. Just cut off about 3" and split it lengthwise. I moved the screws over slightly and put them in with a little 5200. I like the hose better than the fabric only b/c it stays rigid and doesn't collapse when you open the lid all the way. This has worked well for me so far.

You are correct I am married so I forgot how to do all that just about the time the wedding cake got stale.MudDucker wrote:Put in a screw in the box and a hole in the leather flap hanging down from the top. I'd ask for photos and instructions but if I wasn't real clear that I meant on cooler repair only no telling what I might end up with around here.

I think one of our own got kicked to the curb on another site for that.
