I been yearning and burning for a fishing trip since the Carrabelle tourney. Finally the wind decided to lay giving me the opportunity.

Launched from the Fort around 8:30 a.m. Only 2 other trailers in the parking lot. Man I love weekday Fall fishing.

Got on some good reds early with topwater. It was hard to keep them hooked up in the shallow water

A few trout decided to get in on the topwater action

Things slowed down after the falling tide went slack. Ran into TC and Mook. Shot the breeze for a while, then parted ways as the tide was starting to come back in. The turn around time today for the tide was real short.

When the tide came in so did the grass. By the truckloads. It made fishing extremely difficult. I hit the creeks to try to get out of it. Didn't find any reds but found a few trout.

Finally the high tide turned and the water began to move out taking all the fargin grass with it. Things started getting interesting then.

The falling tide really fired up the reds. At 1 spot I caught 9 reds in 9 cast.

It was an awesome day. Ended the day with 25 or 26 reds to 30" and 15 trout to 22". Caught 'em on spoons, spinners, topwater, and soft jerkbaits.

Can't wait til next time.
