It was alot of fun! Relaxing day covering alot of water. I will help you guys anyway I can. When trolling you must cover many depths and change colors regularly. To find what they want on that particular day. How were you guys judging speed? How deep were you fishing? I know you were in a fairly good spot.

Well as for judging speed we went on "2" setting on his trolling motor mostly, sometimes we upped to "3". We kept close to the speed others were going.

Hard to judge how deep we were. I had 1/32 jig heads with a 4 shot pinched on about 12" up. My buddy was using 1/8 jigs with the same #4 shot. He caught 2, I caught 1. We had more strikes, but we couldn't land them. We guessed we were closer to bottom in 14-15' water.

Today our rods got sent back to BP, they made a mistake on shipping. So we are hoping they get here in time for saturday am fishing.
We are gonna have 4 rods each this trip. Hoping we can get in the game better!! :D

Sounds good! I would get some sort of gps to control speed. I think you were getting a little deep. How often did you snag? Did you see the fish suspended at 5-7 foot? They were large bait schools usually near them. These were the aggressive fish I tried to target. I would stagger the length of rods from front to back say 12ft then 10ft to space baits and avoid tangles. The back of the boat can get by with short rods, though I use 8s to have leverage to fight fish around motor. Do you have rodholders with adjustable angles this also helps with differing rod lengths?

Did you know South Ga Outdoors carries a good IM7 graphite rod for $29 they carry 12s, 10s and 8s. These were some of the rods I was using.

We ordered some Willy Marshall graphites on sale from BP, but I will go see SGO too. We are gonna set up staggerd length poles.

Yes we snagged a few times.

Yes we saw the suspended schools, but only tried to target them when the trolling motor got weak, and we would cast to them.
Most of the morning we trolled back and forth. I noticed one boat going faster than anyone else, and at the dock they had over 25 between the two of them.
What you told me about the one rod casting is interesting though. I guess you stopped when you found the suspended scholls and cast?
