I went to Perry to pic up a new trailer so I figured I'd invite my dad to go down for an afternoon of fishing. We didn't really pay atention to the tide as we were going to go either way. We got on the water at 3 PM and after getting a few shrimps we hit the flats. Catching was slow at first with no water movement but as the tide turned to go out we started picking up a few fish. Mostly sea bass with a few dinky trout mixed in. I finally nailed a keeper just barely over the limit. He hit as soon as the jig hit the water. My dad caught a few more shorts on shrimp and then he got a keeper. We fished until dark and ended up with 2 keeper trout and 3 huge sea bass. Dad used shrimp and I used electric chicken sea shads on a jig. My CT rod propmtly screwed up so I went without one just swimming the bait along. It was fun to get out.

We were north of the channel about a mile in around 4 feet. I wanted to go real shallow 1 or less and cast for reds but my dad has shoulder problems and about all he can do is soak shrimp.
