Went solo this morning since all my fishing buds had other plans.....work ect...lol
Left the hill around 8:00am this morning with a pretty stiff wind out of the NNE @ probably 15 + mph..... seas were a little ruff( 2-3`s) till around lunch time when they leveled out pretty nice. Started out trolling 2 stretch 25`s in 30 ft of water about .5 from hole number 1. quickly hook up on a nice 26 inch gag on the firetiger stretch, before I can get the firetiger back out , rod number two is pinned down , up comes a nice fat red grouper on the pinfish colored stretch 25 . Im starting to think this is gonna be good!! trolled between hole 1 and hole 2 for 30-45 minutes and picked up 2 barely short gags and a lizard fish . Lots of grass in the water today made it hard to troll solo so I anchored up @ hole one and started feeding down squid and LY`s , caught 3 more gags for the box , released 2 more in the slot and released 3-4 more shorts. The grouper bite shut down about 12:30 but I added 2 rock bass and 6-8 big grunts to the box. Headed back to the hill around 3:00 pm Good day on the water and all fish were caught within site of land. I love this time of year when you can get out on the water. Will try and post some pics later.
