This would be an inexpensive way for someone to upgrade to a GPS with a nautical chart that is also WAAS enabled. It has the same basic functionality of all GPS's with built-in charts and maps. It is black and white screen and lacks some of the bells and whistles of the more expensive units. I think it would be perfect for inshore fishermen looking to get into and out of creeks and maybe venture to nearshore areas when the grouper are in close. If you are a serious offshore type, you probably would want a lot of the bells and whistles on the newer, more expensive units.
It will come in the original box with owner's manual and the power cord you will need to hook it up. I can run it for you off house current so you can actually see it in operation and view the chart detail and what the screen looks like. Can't include the cable to run it off house current since I use it for my new unit which is also a Garmin.
In the interest of full disclosure, I'm having trouble locating the mount. The price is without mount, but unless the thing sprouted legs, it's got to be around here somewhere so I'll keep looking. The price won't change if I happen to find it. I can also throw in Garmin Waypoint manager software that will allow you to transfer waypoint, routes and tracks from your GPS to a PC. It's a very basic package that allows you to backup your GPS to a PC and from a PC to CD. It does not display nautical chart detail which is another software package that is considerably more expensive.
I'll check this site from time to time or you can call at 850-219-7800 if interested. You'll most likely get our voice mail so just leave a message. I think $225 is a fair price so I'm inclined to just keep it as a backup rather than negotiate. Just fair warning so you don't waste your time or get frustruated.
P.S. For an extra Grand, I'll leave my numbers on it
