FLW Redfish Tournament Sarasota
Prefishing – Knowing there was big schools of prefect fish at Longbar and knowing most of the tournament boat would be there, we decided to try to find other fish before putting ourselves in a pack hoping to get lucky. We had found a good school of fish in south Tampa Bay that were very happy and comfortable.
Day One – We stayed way off our spot making very long cast, to keep form spooking or pressuring our fish. We culled through 10 fish and had 12 to 12.5 lbs by 11:30. We decided to stay off our fish and just play defense. The weigh in went almost indicial to the Punta Gorda event, monster weights. We were in the top 25 going into day 2.
Day Two – Arrived at our spot everything looked perfect, almost no wind. We said this will be great we can get on them and actually sight fish them. We fished our spot all day with only 2 bites. One 5 to 5.5 lbs and one that was barely 18 inches pinching the tail as hard as you could. We ending up finishing 26th place, but did move to 15 overall for Team of the Year.

Thanks for keeping us posted. Sounds like a tough day two but 15th in TOTY is great. Keep climbing.
