Kayak fishing?

Post by redhead201 »

I am just getting in to kayak fishing and only gone on a few trips. Where would be a good place for a beginner kayak fisherman. I was thinking of to carrabelle and taking the bayou to go try to catch some fishing the oyster bars right to the west of the mouth of the river. Any advice or reccomendations are greatly appreciated.

Wakulla Beach is a good spot for kayaks. It has shallow water, an easy place to launch, and very little boat traffic. After launching, paddle either east or west for about a half mile. Both sides have mouths to creeks that contain numerous oyster bars holding reds, trout, and flounder. Good luck.

Here is a list of a few places from http://www.fcka.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and their Kayak Launch section. This is a google map and you can drag the map to look at places between Cape San Blas and Steinhatchee

I think you need to get on the water, fish your game, and them judge.
