Keaton Beach: May 2/3/4

Post by Redfin »

We decided to fish the Optimist club tourny at Keaton so we headed down and prefished on Friday.
Day 1 was a WINDY day but we did find some fish on the bars with an outgoing tide. Threw gold sppons and managed 13, from 21-28 inches. And 2 flounder for dinner...

Day 2 started early and a little less windy. We fished hard from 7 to 3 with not much to show, so we hit the red fish hole from Friday.. it was like a light swith turned on at the same time in the afternoon. Gold spoons caught 8 before we had to go weigh in. We took two at 26 inched and thought we had a chance. Both weighed in 5.8, 1 lb shy of first... we had left em bitein' so when we saw our 2 werent gonna place, so we headed back to the bars where we did catch a fat 31 and 33 (see below).. nice way to end the day...

Day 3 we headed off shore early and didnt do much other than a mess of black bass and 0 grouper.. 3 days of fishin will wear ya out..

Good looking Red. Not home this weekend, but my two sons stayed in my place this weekend at Keaton. The had the same results I've been having for past couple weeks. Caught fish like crazy on rising tide. Soon as tide hit full and water quit running, like turning off a light switch. Been like that for me for last 2 to 3 weeks.
