TARPON at Econfina

Post by Jumptrout51 »

Ashley Mock...Zara Spook...100 yards of line...100 pound TARPON...20 leaps in the air...Steve Taylor with a camera phone...bye bye TARPON...hello empty spool...bye bye pics(did not hit SAVE button).

We saw a couple dozen feeding on mullet.
The fish was hooked good and probably would have been landed. The time I spent taking pictures used up too much chase time.
It was my fault the big one got away.
But, after all...it was a trout tournament. Tarpon don't count at weigh in.
WHOSE FISH IS IT?

nice....always carry a "big gun" Steve. doubt the typical trout rig is gonna land a 100 plus fish. I watched a 20+-pounder work chalk like a rented mule in the keys on his redfish setup.

Dang JT you are supposed to multi task in this situation. Chase the fish, take pictures, and most of all, remember to hit the save button. Congrats Ashley, that sounds like a heap of fun
