Yak Report weekending June 1, 2008

Post by jsuber »

Kayakers did pretty good this weekend.

Talltails picked up a 42" Redfish and JimH landed a 27" Trout. Those artificial Shrimp really kicked butt this weekend with the Redfish and Jim got his big Trout with a Pinfish under a CT.

Abcarias joined Talltails and myself at Alligator Harbor on Sunday and we got into a lot of sharks while looking for other fish. Found out those Curado 300 DHSV stand up to big sharks really well. Can't wait to hook up to one of thsoe Silver fish. Lots of Ladyfish, Gafftops, and even a bluefish or two were around the point. Other kayakers had good luck catching Redfish on Topwater around Bottoms Road up to 27", and a few 29" Redfish were caught on the banks of Lanark with Topwater. Flounderpounder picked up a nice 32" Cobia, but it was 1" shy of hitting the fying pan. Talltails caught himself a nice Cobia at Alligator Harbor but it too was shy of the keeper slot. Fishing has been gettiing a lot better since the wind laid down.

Great job guys.
