Casting Platform
Does anybody have a Birdsall or Bluepoint casting platform? If so would you mind posting the distance between the legs for me, it would be much appreciated. I'm trying to find one that best fits my hatch configuration. Thanks in advance.

Boat says maverick BB, put your reading glasses on.
I would call both companies. I bet they can tell you what platform will fit the boat. I'm sure they've done a lot of them.

It's an 18.5 MA. I sold the Hewes a few months ago, I needed something a little bigger and wanted rod lockers to keep hooks/potential broken rods away from the little ones when their along. The boxes on the side are rod lockers Maverick only made that model from '96 - '98. I got luckly and found one in mint condition shortly after selling my redfisher. It only had about 56 hours on it and most of that was fresh water.

150hp yamaha 2 smoke she'll run about 56 on the gps with just me and lightly loaded.... Haven't noticed any porposing at low speed, but then again its been fairly choppy everytime I've been out. I had heard the newer models built with the varis construction had a tendency to porpoise a little at low speeds.

Re: Casting Platform
Im concerned that by adding the jackplate, Im gonna magnify the problem. It is a characteristic of the boat(Hulll only weighs 850 lbs with a 400+ lb motor on the back. I may wind up putting heavier batteries in the forward part of the boat to try and offset the weight distribution. Not trying to derail your thread, bud. NOLE STILL NEEDS THOSE MEASUREMENTS. Nole, I can check on the Maverick forum if you want me to. Or just go to maverickboats.com and sign into the forums. Go to Maverick and post the question. Youll probably get 20 responses in an hour.

Re: Casting Platform
The trim tabs were put on the boat to be used right? I see guys running all the time with flats boats bouncing across the bay, where if they would just use a little down tab they would run smooth and straight.

Yea man, I know and I do use them but Ive talked to others who dont have to use them. I dont mind using the tabs, just cant be as efficient on the motor as one that runs true without them. Appreciate the comment thoughBayGator wrote:The trim tabs were put on the boat to be used right?
