Keaton Beach Fishing

Post by Ron Wilson »

Got an opportunity to put the RV on a site in Keaton, about three miles from the Marina. This would lock me in to fishing there more often vice St. Mark's. Only fished there once (this Spring's tourney). Was wondering how the fishing is summer/fall. Same pattern as St. Mark's/Econfina? It's not too big of a driving distance than that I already endure going to St. Mark's.

Very similar pattern. The biggest difference is way more scallopers.
Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

Good deal, Ron. Ya'll we'll enjoy fishing down there. I don't fish there much in the summer, but the fall winter spring fishing is awesome.

There is a bunch of fish in just about any direction from Keaton.
Spring Warrior is usually pretty good and down to Piney Point and beyond there is also good.
If you like really clear water go to Piney Point and if you like stained water start at Spring Warrior.

Heck with fishing at Keaton just get a lawn chair and sit at the ramp when a storm is brewing like today.

I thought that Red Neck comedy tour was funny where were you around 2:30 today?

We did not pick a fight, we did not try to help, we did not laugh outloud.

There should be a required class on how to get your pontoon, or offshore boat onto or off of a trailer.

We have been fishing deeper than I ever have before and doing good 15 + feet, Normally I go till the water is not so clear.

But also not way into the stained water but where the transition is. Keep moving find the difference ie. bottom, depth, current etc...

Lots of bars, creeks and spotty bottom have fun be safe and keep moving till you find them. Don't be affraid to fish pinfish Pat Mc Griff does well on them.
Yesterday it was taboo today it is normal what the heck will they be doing tomorrow?

Thanks fellows. I'm heading down this weekend to take a look at the RV site and hopefully do some fishing. I'll post update when I return.
