Lanark Scallops are plentiful
Went Scalloping in Lanark and for the first time since 2004 and Lanark is full of them. We put in at the Lanark Boat Club ramp which has been modernized with the poly docks almost all the way around the basin. We headed east and were out there for several hours. Once we found the right area, we got our limit and they are much bigger then ever. We have scalloped in St.Marks in the past and the size of these are much bigger...I don't know why but they are. Most of them were in 4-5 feet of water. It's nice to see that not only is the fishing in Lanark hot but so is the scalloping. Have fun.

Was this in the bay behind the bars or closer to Turkey Point? I looked all over Turkey Point and couldn't find the first one. One would tend to think if they were in Lanark, they would be on the point too. Shows what I know.

when we were there two weeks ago the scallop crowd seemed bunched up about half way between Turkey Point and the Lanark Village Marina/Boat Club. And they were pretty close to shore. About 20+ boats all together.

Thanks...I guess that explains why I didn't see them on Turkey Point then.

here is one from Lanark on Sunday! great size to them but my crew had a hard time limiting out with all the other boats! Nice just to see the kids get some though since this is only their 2nd time.
