??? Panama City

Post by LuckySOB »

Family and I are going to Panama City this weekend, and would like to fish the pass or at the jetties for some big bulls. If anyone has any tips on what to use or helpful tips, let me know. Jared
No matter what, it's a good day.

You fishing from the rocks - if so use the least amount of weight you can get by with...more weight more hang ups and losing tackle

try a break away sinker while your at it:
fold your leader and stick the doubled leader all the way thru the hole in an egg sinker. Take a piece of rubber band and insert this in the loop protruding from the egg sinker and pull the rubber band part way back into the hole in the weight. When a fish hits, the strain on the line will pull the rubber band back through the hole and the weight will drop off the line. If you want a little more resistance for casting and hook sets, loop rubber band onto mono loop at the sinker. when you rare back and put the pressure on the fish the rubber band will break and pull thru the sinker. just my .02

That might work offshore...it ain't gonna work from the rocks...I got ten pounds of missing lead out there to prove it
